[School Life] 3.14 π (파이)데이

지난 3월 14일, LIS 캠퍼스에서 매년 개최되는 π(파이) 데이 행사가 성황리에 진행되었습니다. 이번 행사는 학생들이 수학을 보다 쉽고 재미있게 접할 수 있도록 다양한 프로그램과 미션으로 구성되었으며, 초·중·고 전교생이 적극적으로 참여하였습니다.

π 데이의 핵심 프로그램으로는 수학 수업 중 미션 수행, 점심시간 Pi 스테이션 운영, 그리고 Pi King 결승전이 있었습니다. 학생들은 코인 토스 게임, 원 채우기 챌린지, 숨은 그림 찾기 및 Pi 단어 게임 등 다양한 활동을 통해 원주율 개념을 자연스럽게 익혔습니다. 특히, Pi King 결승전에서는 각 학년에서 선발된 학생들이 최종 우승을 가리기 위해 긴장감 넘치는 대결을 펼쳤습니다. 행사장 곳곳에는 원주율과 관련된 장식이 설치되어 학생들이 자연스럽게 π 값을 외울 수 있도록 도왔으며, 참가자들에게는 초코파이와 파이 뱃지가 제공되었습니다. 또한, Pi 암기 대회에서는 놀라운 암기력을 보여준 학생들이 주목을 받았습니다.

이번 행사를 통해 학생들은 단순한 숫자가 아닌, 하나님이 창조하신 자연 속에 담긴 수학의 질서를 발견하고, 이를 통해 창조의 신비로움과 조화로움을 경험하는 소중한 기회를 가졌습니다. 또한, 수학적 탐구를 통해 배움의 즐거움을 느끼고, 하나님이 부여하신 지혜와 도전 정신을 키우는 값진 시간을 보냈습니다. LIS는 앞으로도 학생들이 즐겁게 학습할 수 있는 다양한 활동을 마련하여, 배움과 신앙이 조화를 이루는 교육을 지속적으로 제공할 예정입니다.

2025 LIS Spring π Day Event Successfully Concluded

On March 14, LIS hosted its annual π (Pi) Day event, which was a great success. This event was designed to help students engage with mathematical concepts in an enjoyable and accessible way, and it saw enthusiastic participation from all elementary, middle, and high school students.

The key programs of Pi Day included math class challenges, lunchtime Pi stations, and the Pi King final round. Students took part in various activities such as the coin toss game, circle packing challenge, hidden pictures, and Pi word games, allowing them to naturally explore the concept of π. The Pi King final round, in particular, was an exciting competition where selected students from each grade competed for the championship.

Around the campus, decorations featuring Pi digits and mathematical concepts were displayed, encouraging students to familiarize themselves with π in a fun and interactive way. Participants were rewarded with Choco Pies and Pi badges, and those who excelled in the Pi Memorization Contest received special recognition for their impressive achievements.

Through this event, students were able to discover not just numbers but the mathematical order woven into God’s creation. It was a meaningful opportunity to experience the wonders and harmony of His design, while also fostering a love for learning and a spirit of intellectual curiosity.
